North Carolina is at a pivotal moment. Democrats have a real opportunity to gain seats in the state legislature and protect Gov. Stein’s veto power, hold a critical State Supreme Court seat, and flip the U.S. Senate seat with former Gov. Roy Cooper.

Black voter turnout will be decisive in every one of these races.

Two of the state’s strongest grassroots organizations, Advance Carolina and Carolina Federation, are already doing the work. Their year-round, door-to-door programs engage Black and Latine voters through trusted, face-to-face conversations with trained canvassers who live in and understand the communities they serve.

Roughly one-third of the votes needed to win statewide can be found in Mecklenburg County. Charlotte is the state’s largest city and is the key to a winning electoral margin. Together, Advance Carolina and Carolina Federation plan to knock on 90,000 Charlotte doors . . . but funding remains the biggest obstacle.

We can help close the gap.

Our goal is to raise $8,000 to fund two full-time canvassers for one month. Together, they can knock on as many as 4,000 doors, turning conversations into participation and participation into votes.
