Personal conversations have special political potency, whether they’re about a candidate or an issue. By far, the most effective way to turn out voters is with high-quality, face-to-face conversations that address the issues they are most concerned about in their communities.
Talking with voters early and often about their local legislative candidates will turn out votes for this year's top of the ticket: Democrat Roy Cooper, running to flip a U.S. Senate seat, and Democrat Anita Earls, who is running to retain her seat on the NC Supreme Court, currently controlled by the GOP.
Lean Left Vermont is working with All in For North Carolina (AINC) to connect volunteers with canvassing opportunities in the Raleigh/Durham area this Spring. This early work can build numbers in razor-thin elections.
The weekend of April 9-12 you can canvass with Team Up NC (formerly County2County/Neighbors on Call) in suburban Wake County (Raleigh/Durham area), one of the few places in the state with multiple swing legislative seats. Team Up will find local housing and will host canvassers for a welcome dinner on April 9th.
If you can't make the April canvass, there will be more opportunities to canvass in the Fall.
