STATES MATTER — NOW MORE THAN EVER

Our work is year-round. It requires a thoughtful, sustained effort to become educated, identify priorities, and develop strong relationships with grassroots organizers and national organizations that are on the ground. We primarily work in three states—New Hampshire, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. We’ll find significant ways that you can contribute in 2024.

Sunday Power Hour

It's 2024! We're starting earlier than ever because this year's election is so important.

Join us for Lean Left's Power Hour—anytime between 3 and 5 pm—where we'll work together to make these important calls to voters. We'll have a check-in at the end of each hour to share the results of our calls.

NOTE: If this is your first PowerHour, arrive 15 minutes early for an intro to the phone banks we'll be calling. Questions? Contact leanleftvt@gmail.com

Postcards: When we don’t have postcard actions in our three states, we’ll provide you with writing opportunities in other states. You can read about those opportunities here. Remember that postcards are most effective when combined with other forms of voter contact like calling, texting, and knocking on doors, so return to this page and pick a supporting action!

  • Pennsylvania Inactive Voter Project: Are you ready for a challenge? The VoProPros (VPP) is an all-volunteer organization that focuses on voter protection and education. The Inactive Voter Project is reaching thousands of voters who could be thrown off the polling rolls because they haven’t voted in past elections or they have moved and not updated their registration. This project has the potential of reengaging voters, providing them with information about how to re-register and get a mail-in-ballot. You will need to feel comfortable with technology and be on Slack, a cloud-based communication tool. VPP has a huge list of inactive voters and is need of volunteers. If this interests you, join a discussion of the project at the next Sunday’s Power Hour.

Make Calls with The Environmental Voter Project: This is a great organization that uses every election as an opportunity to change voting behavior. Since 2015, they have contacted 9.5 million non-voting and seldom-voting environmentalists and helped convert almost 1.5 million of them into “super voters.” The EVP’s phone bank for the upcoming PA primary is a good way to start getting your chops ready for the coming months. These calls are made through HubDialer, which is an automatic dialer. You can make calls on your own time. Sign Up Here.

Activate America: Write to Democrats who don’t always vote, asking them to participate in PA’s primary election on April 23. Strong Democratic turnout in the primary will build momentum for candidates, funding, and the media. Mail your postcards as soon as completed, but no later than April 6. You supply the postcards and stamps. Sign Up Here
