Stories can shape the world around us. But who should be the storytellers?
Hear from a voter whose vote is being challenged by the Republican loser in last year’s state Supreme Court election (still in the courts). Her story is powerful, emotional, and game-changing for people who believe it will never happen to them.
Building a network of storytellers and laying the groundwork now for how MAGA policies are affecting NC individuals will motivate a broad portion of Democratic and progressive voters, unaffiliated voters, centrist voters, and traditional Republicans, as well as MAGA voters who have come to realize the effects of this administration’s policies. If successful, NC can flip Thom Tillis’ Senate seat, expand the number of Democrats on the state Supreme Court, and hold a U.S. House seat, all in 2026.
Learn more about this bottom-up, authentic approach to storytelling at this special event: Telling Our Stories: Defeating MAGA through Local Voices with Keynote Speaker Ben Wikler, Chair, WI Democratic Party. Ben Wikler and the leaders of Progress NC Action share their insights about motivating voters one story at a time.
This event is Co-sponsored by: Lean Left Vermont and All In for NC, Building Bridges for America Action Fund, Chop Wood Carry Water, DC Ward 3 Democratic Committee, NOPE, Partners4Democracy, Register And Vote North Carolina, Senate Circle, Swing Blue Alliance, Swing Left Peninsula, Team Min, and Volunteer Blue
There’s More
We are raising funds for Progress NC Action’s authentic approach to storytelling. Progress and CARE (Coalition Against Right Wing Extremism) have a new 2025/2026 plan to tell stories about the hurtful policies of MAGA extremists and how NC people are suffering. Step One is to hire the first ever Storyteller Coordinator, someone who captures the personal stories of working and disaffected people on video and directs them to outlets that can reach into all parts of NC, especially rural communities.
